Fees

*Note: Your insurance coverage may be handled by more than one company. It's important to know which company handles your mental health benefits. If I am out of network with your insurance provider, you may still be able to see me, but often at a greater cost to you than a provider in network.

Fees may be paid at each session with cash or check, or billed to an authorized credit card or HSA card on file. You may also pay in advance when you make your appointment online.  My fee is $175 per hour.  If you have insurance and would like to use it for these services, you will pay only your co-pay at the time of service, once any deductibles have been met.  I will file for the balance with your insurance company.

Even if you have insurance coverage for mental health treatment, you have the option of seeing me as a self-pay client.  Advantages of self-pay are:  1) far less paperwork and hassle with your insurance company over claims, eligibility, uncovered services and coinsurance issues; 2) no limits on the number or type of sessions; 3) no need to assign you a mental health diagnosis that gets recorded and possibly entered into the Medical Insurance Bureau database; 4) much greater confidentiality of personal medical information.  This could affect your ability to get private insurance coverage, employment or other personal privileges in the future.  Please let me know if you would like to discuss self-pay further.

Fee for any missed appointment will be $75, which is the average amount specified in my contract with the major insurance companies. Unless you are self-paying, this is more costly than what you usually pay per session (your co-pay) because insurance will not reimburse for missed appointments. Cancellations with greater than 24 hours notice and missed appointments due to emergencies will not be charged.

If you want to know what your co-pay will be before your appointment, you may call your insurance company or scan the front and back of your insurance card and send it to me as an attachment with your name and birth date to billing@doctorellengray.com
